2017 is nearly upon us and I bet I’m not the only person feeling like I need more exercise and less calories!
It can be difficult to find the time to exercise, especially when you’ve got a toddler and a new baby about to arrive at any moment. Committing to a gym membership just feels silly when I know I won’t go half the time. I play 7-a-side football once a week for an hour but I know I’m kidding myself thinking that is enough exercise. In the summertime I also play tennis a couple of nights a week – really good fun and a nice run-around.
Wintertime is a bit trickier; it is too dark for tennis in the evenings and at weekends it gets cancelled if there is rain (we get a lot of rain in a British winter!). Last winter I found a nice way to get some fitness time that is completely flexible. Rather than join a gym and pay to never go, I started using an app to pay when I actually have time to go. I am lucky that my local community gym is part of the scheme and is pretty cheap. If you fancy trying it there is a promotion to get half price on your first purchase: sign up at Pay As U Gym.
